The delay for the game was explained by Telltale Games CEO Jamie Jamie Ottilie in an interview last year. The team is working to perfection while also avoiding burnout. Given the rocky phase spanning from COVID-19 to the layoffs, it is understandable the game has been taking so much time.

In essence, it actually is a good thing they are taking it at their own pace as rushing forward may mess things up. “If we put this game out and it’s not ready, we’re going to get torn to shreds,” Jamie says.
