Amy Schumer’s controversial career

Amy Schumer is famous for her unique style of delivering jokes. With her quick wit, timing, and even giving out social commentaries in a hilarious package, she garnered a lot of fans and appraisal. Another thing she is famous for is including graphic s*xual connotations in her jokes. While they can be extremely fun, in today’s cancel culture, if you cannot keep in line with the general social awareness and temper yourself according to that, you will not be accepted.

As such, some seemed to find her jokes quite insensitive. The major factor swaying public opinion however came in after the 2022 Oscars when she first got accused of stealing jokes. With such a massive accusation some probed more into the matter, finding proof of what they think is her stealing jokes from Comedy veterans not just once but numerous times. After that, the majority of Hollywood and even the general netizens became biased negatively toward her.

Amy Schumer replaced in Barbie

One of the most hyped movies of this year, Barbie by Greta Gerwig, tells the story of a less-than-perfect doll who after being expelled from the Barbieland sets out to the human world to find happiness. It turns out that in this innovative tale of body positivity and self-acceptance, it was Amy Schumer who was supposed to be headlining as Barbie. Which seems quite fair as she has been one of the most vocal advocates of body positivity in Hollywood.

However, fans do not really seem to think so, as after learning this very recent information they took to Twitter to express their opinions on the matter. While some do think it would have been interesting to see her portray such an iconic character most sway towards being grateful for the recasting. Ranging from thank yous to dodging bullets, there is a lot of fervor going on around this currently.

However, some netizens also took to defending her saying they would have rather liked seeing her performance as Barbie. They also mentioned that the movie was plotted in an entirely different way when Schumer was involved and that the premise seemed way more interesting than the current version. Well, although it is hard to say who would have made a better Barbie after the recent trailer dropped, it seems safe to say that fans are in for a treat with this movie this July.
