Sydney Sweeney is not regretting signing up to play Julia Carpenter

The Anyone But You actor who played Julia Carpenter, aka the future Spider-Woman, did not find much favor with fans despite her cult status with young adults across the world. While Dakota Johnson has vocalized her emotions pretty openly regarding her regret in doing the role, The Voyeurs actor has taken a refreshingly positive approach to the failure.

In a candid interview with GQ, the star elaborated on what went wrong with the film while also expressing her emotions behind taking on the role. Looking back at what had transpired, she stated that she did not rue the fact that she accepted this part as it contributed to the larger picture when it came to her career.

“To me that film was a building block, it’s what allowed me to build a relationship with Sony. Without doing Madame Web I wouldn’t have a relationship with the decision-makers over there. Everything in my career I do not just for that story, but strategic business decisions.”

With these words of wisdom, it looks like Sweeney has an intelligent and practical head over her young shoulders which should go a long way in making her one of the biggest stars of her generation.

Sydney Sweeney Called Out Unnecessary Exposure in Euphoria

Sydney Sweeney has proved that she is someone who has a mind of her own and is never scared to express her opinions. This trait was seen during her successful stint in Euphoria when she played the vengeful and openly s*xual Cassie Howard. This gritty drama about teenaged drug addicts which became a huge blockbuster, also contained many scenes of graphic s*xual content especially with relation to the Immaculate star’s character.

Sweeney though, was openly against putting herself and her character through unnecessary exposure and requested her director Sam Levinson to tone down some of the scenes that did not require excessive n*dity. In an interview with The Independent, she revealed her reasons behind wanting this change in the show.

“There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here. He was like, ‘Okay, we don’t need it.’

While there were many criticisms targeted at Levinson for trying to bring in too much graphic n*dity into his show, the beautiful star was quick to clarify that the director was extremely receptive to her suggestions and understood her point of view. She also revealed that Levinson respected her wishes and toned down the content based on her opinions.
