After its successful run of five seasons spread across the course of over six years, Cobra Kai has once again returned to the screens to deliver one last action-packed season that will conclude the series once and for all. But while the grief of the saga ending is one thing, fans are more heartbroken over a fact regarding what could have been the perfect end to the lore.

As it turns out, fans had the most satisfying end to the smash-hit saga all set in their minds way before the series even neared its end. However, this dream was shattered forever after Netflix continued and “wasted away” what was originally started by YouTube Red. If anything, fans believe that the end they had envisioned just might forever remain a dream at this stage.

Fans Had Envisioned the Perfect End for Cobra Kai in Mind

Ralph Macchio‘s Cobra Kai is returning to the screens for its sixth and final season, divided into three parts of five episodes each. And while its first part has already made its way onto the screens, fans are already having second thoughts about how the series would end, presuming that it would not be what they had been expecting all along.

This comes after Redditor r/DawnofMidnight7 shared on the subreddit r/cobrakai their respective opinion on how the show had a really “small” fanbase but was “really enjoyable” throughout the time YouTube Premium aired it. However, this was before Netflix acquired it, and ever since then, a lot has changed. Like how the show is “Cobra Kai” but they managed to make that the villain itself.

That said, this very fan also shared how they wish the series would end. According to them, the perfect end would be William Zabka‘s Johnny Lawrence taking back the Cobra Kai and giving it a new look with new philosophies — just like how the first few seasons of the show worked epically among fans because of how they depicted the point of view of Johnny.

Additionally, Johnny teaching them how to become stronger and much more respectful adults in society and “maybe have friendly competitions with Miyagi Do” would have further added stars to this perfectly envisioned end. Effortlessly enough, this would have indeed resulted in one of the best finales for the fan-favorite saga.

However, after Netflix took over, the series has gone back to the “wax on, wax off” situation with its characters, and fans are not okay with it. That said, the probability of this iconic end taking place seems like it would forever remain just a dream that YT Premium started, but wouldn’t be able to finish for the star-studded lore.

Fans Believe Netflix Actually Wasted Away Cobra Kai

As it turns out, fans actually do believe that Netflix had the best thing in its hands that YT Red started, but it ended up letting it go down the drain by changing the storyline so brutally from Johnny’s point of view and character growth to what it stands as today.

Taking to the comment section of the subreddit post to share their own respective opinions, here’s what those fans have to say:

Well, for what it’s worth, fans are hardly wrong. The initial seasons of the saga were truly epic pieces of work, and ever since Netflix took over the same in June 2020, nothing has quite been the same for the series.

At the same time, not all hope is lost, and what has been wronged could still be brought back on track with the most satisfactory end since masterminds like Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are the ones taming it. But to know for sure, fans will have to wait until the final season actually concludes the blockbuster saga.

You can stream Cobra Kai on Netflix.
