Kevin Spacey Reprised His Role As Frank Underwood During A Recent Interview
Kevin Spacey, despite facing tons of allegations in the past, resurfaced with a new and unconventional video this week. The Christmas special interview clip featured Spacey in a conversation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, amusing fans. Known for his role as Frank Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards, Spacey was removed from the series in 2017 amid sexual assault allegations.
While speaking in the interview, Kevin Spacey, while in character as Frank Underwood, went after Netflix for cutting ties with him over the allegations. Underwood made it clear he was not happy about Netflix’s decision.
”It is bizarre they decided to publicly cut ties with me on allegations alone, allegations that have now been proven false. Because I don’t think there’s any question… Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map, and they tried to put me in the ground.
I think we could both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room, so if that means taking on the chief executive role, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this nation.
Our country needs to stop apologising and stiffen up. We have so many people running with so many different issues, like gun control, but let’s be honest, more people are killed by online trolls every day.”
Afterwards, Kevin Spacey also added that he would be a good fit to run for President of The United States next year. As already noted above, he said all of this fully in character and none of it was his own opinion – even then, it was certainly a bizarre watch for fans.
What Kind Of Allegations Was Kevin Spacey Accused Of?
Kevin Spacey was the subject of #MeToo allegations from several people a few years ago, and he was removed from a lot of projects. The sexual assault lawsuit was on the verge of dismissal back in 2021 as well but came back in full force the following year.
Kevin Spacey had been charged with seven counts of se*ual assault and one count of “causing a person to engage in penetrative se*ual activity without consent.” Spacey was pretty much shunned from Hollywood after facing allegations from several individuals, including Star Trek: Discovery star Anthony Rapp, in 2017. However, according to The New York Times, he would be acquitted of all charges earlier this year – shocking many people as they felt he would be behind bars for a long time.
