It’s been 8 years since the first Moana movie aired. Following in the footsteps of a long range of Disney flicks, the movie was a critical as well as commercial success. After all, everyone fell in love with the story of a girl who dared to dream, as the movie proved to be one of the best redemption arcs mankind has ever witnessed. The only ones who didn’t enjoy the cinematic masterpiece were the people with a certain (dis)inclination towards the likes of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. But even they will find it difficult to hate the latest official poster of Moana 2.
The hype for Moana 2 is already high
Director David G. Derrick takes over from the duo of John Musker and Ron Clements to take Moana in a new direction. The sequel witnesses Moana taking on new adventures (and of course a brand new expedition) to uncharted waters. Sadly, we have no idea where it takes her (the trailer is yet to be released).
But what caught the eyes of many fans was the first official poster itself. The poster was shared by Disney Animation a day before the first trailer was going to be released. And it is safe to say that it was well received.

Moana 2 strikes the right chord with its latest poster
Fans on X flocked in huge numbers to shower praises on the poster, which many hailed as the perfect teaser for the upcoming movie. One X user even labeled it as a “very clever poster.”

However, that is something that can be discussed at a later point in time. At the moment, fans are excited for the upcoming Disney flick, and it is only natural that their interests will be given another spring when the official trailer sees the light of day.
Moana 2 is all about sailing into the unknown
With a (as of yet) confirmed release date of 27th November, 2024, Moana 2 is all set to take fans on a roll. Though there has been no word about what (and who) can we expect from the movie (that might change with the release of the trailer tomorrow), the return of Dwayne Johnson as Maui and Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, is set in stone. And that is enough for some fans.

Moana 2 will have the daunting task of following in the footsteps of its prequel and hitting the same tone. All of us have our fingers crossed for the success of the sequel. After all, who doesn’t want to see a duo we love sail out of murky waters again?
