People are gossiping and worried, thinking this might throw the whole project off course. It’s got fans on edge, not sure what’s in store for one of Marvel’s all-time favorite franchises.

X-Men ’97 Creator Beau DeMayo Fired Before The Disney+ Series Premiere

Big news! Beau DeMayo, the brain behind the much-awaited X-Men ’97 series, got the boot just before it hit Disney+. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DeMayo, who was in charge of the show and an executive producer, got the axe right before the March 20 premiere.

He wrapped up work on Seasons 1 and 2 before leaving. Now, he won’t even show up at the March 13 Hollywood premiere. And guess what? His Instagram, where he teased artwork and chatted with fans about X-Men ’97, vanished into thin air.

DeMayo was the mastermind behind X-Men ’97, a sequel to the beloved ’90s X-Men: The Animated Series that aired on Fox Kids. Why he got the boot right before the premiere is a mystery. But one thing’s for sure, he’s out of the picture for promoting the show or working on future seasons.

Before this, DeMayo had his hands in other Marvel and Disney+ projects like Moon Knight and the upcoming Blade. He’s also been involved in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Netflix’s The Witcher, and animated flicks like The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and a couple of League of Legends shorts.

Now, about X-Men ’97 itself, get ready for a nostalgia blast! Original cast members from X-Men: The Animated Series are making a comeback more than 30 years later. The new series kicks off right where the ’90s show left off, Professor X is supposedly gone, and guess who’s in charge?

Magneto, of course! And the X-Men gang, including Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the rest, have to deal with new baddies in a world that ain’t too keen on mutants.

But here’s the kicker, fans aren’t happy. They’re pointing fingers at Feige for this mess, and boy, is he getting an earful online.

The first trailer for X-Men ’97 picks up right where the old series left off, promising a good time for us viewers. But let’s be clear, it’s us having fun, not the X-Men. DeMayo spilled the beans on Instagram, confirming X-Men ’97 won’t be part of the MCU, doing its own thing.

The series is dropping on Disney+ on March 20, and Marvel Studios is teasing fans with official episode titles. The debut episode, To Me, My X-Men, pays homage to how Professor Charles Xavier calls the team to action in the comics.

Now, here’s the good news: we don’t have to wait long to dive into this reboot. X-Men ’97 hits Disney+ on March 20 with a total of 10 episodes. And guess what again? They’re dropping the first two episodes on the same day!

It looks like mutants and fans alike are hyped to pick up where they left off. Let the mutant mayhem begin!
