2023 was a bleak year for Marvel as the year showed the studio at its worst with many fans calling out the lazy writing in their narratives, unfocused direction, and a lack of cohesiveness between the projects. While the third Guardians of the Galaxy film and Loki season 2 were high points of the year, Ant-Man 3, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels proved to be some of the weakest that the MCU had to offer.

In addition to fans not liking the latter, it also became the franchise’s first flop. Fans pointed out the bad writing and the underwhelming villain as the main cons of the film. Now, Heavy Spoilers has pointed out a big plothole in The Marvels (on X) that has led to fans wonder how could this be possible under the supervision of Kevin Feige.

The events of Secret Invasion and The Marvels happen one after the other in close periods. Both President Ritson and Dar-Benn are trying to get rid of Skrulls as they think that they are a threat to Earth and the universe. However, in The Marvels it is seen that the Skrulls who have escaped the destruction caused by Dar-Benn are brought back to earth in New Asgard by Valkyrie.

Now, with Feige shaking things up and Bob Iger insisting on ‘quality over quantity’, fans hope that the upcoming MCU projects bring back the glory days of the past and rekindle the audience’s faith in the studio.
