Depp’s 2001 movie, Blow, has a co-star alleging that the actor had yelled at her and that was pretty harsh. The allegation has recently been rekindled as his co-star Lola Glaudini appeared on the Powerful Truth Angels podcast detailing the alleged event.

It all goes back to the set of Ted Demme-directed crime thriller Blow as Johnny Depp allegedly rebuked his co-star Lola Glaudini. As Glaudini described in the Powerful Truth Angels podcast, she was in the background of a scene where Depp’s character George Jung was performing a monologue. Demme directed Glaudini to burst out laughing in the background during the scene.

“Johnny Depp, when they say cut, walks over to me, comes up to me, sticks his finger in my face and he goes, ‘Who the f*ck do you think you are? Who the f*ck do you think you are? Shut the f*ck up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to f*cking say my lines and you’re f*cking pulling focus. You f*cking idiot. Oh, now, oh now it’s not so funny? Now you can shut up? Now you can f*cking shut the fuck up? The quiet that you are right now, that’s how you f*cking stay,’” Glaudini recalled in the podcast.

For Glaudini, it was her first studio movie after appearing in some indie projects. “And I have the star who I have idolized, who I am so excited to work with,” she said of Depp. However, it soon turned bleak as he “reamed me in my face,” she added. At the moment, as the actor described, she was trying her utmost best to not cry.

It was later in the day when Depp allegedly came up with “a non-apology apology.” Per Glaudini, Depp said that he lost it earlier as he was into the character and the Boston accent of the character has got the best of him. So, Depp allegedly said, “I just wanted to make sure we’re cool and everything?” Further, the actor detailed that the director “did not come over and say anything” adding that when the movie was wrapped, “I was like a pariah. No one wanted to talk to me, because I am the b*tch who he railed at.”

Following Glaudini’s story, Variety reached out to Depp’s representatives and responded to the allegation by saying:

“Johnny always prioritizes good working relationships with cast and crew and this recounting differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set at the time.”

At this point, it is hard to speculate on the validity of the claims but fans are divided following the allegations became part of the discussion.

It is unclear how long the debate will stretch but Blow sound technician Samuel Sarkar (who also worked on a few of Depp’s movies including Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) revealed that he “never heard anything like that – and that would have been a remarkable event,” (via Variety). Blow also stars Penélope Cruz, Franka Potente, Rachel Griffiths, and co.

Blow can be rented on video-on-demand platforms.
