The DCU, a ‘broad but not blanket’ reset of the DCEU, headed by James Gunn, has a lot riding on it when it comes to the future of Warner Bros. in general. While the highly anticipated Superman movie is set to become the first major offering under the new regime, a number of other highly-anticipated movies are also in the pipeline.

This includes the upcoming Batman II movie, which is set to further the journey of Robert Pattinson’s Batman and is rumored to have a place for Barry Keoghan’s Joker. While there have been rumors of several other antagonists who might as well end up being a part of Batman II, a fan on Twitter recently came up with his own iteration of how the movie should look like.

Instead of sticking with The Joker, the fan came up with a movie poster that features neither Batman nor any villain. However, it does feature the titular superhero’s suit, frayed and left hanging on a stick, clearly resembling a scarecrow!

While not a lot of details have been released with respect to the upcoming project, a number of chief villains are in the reckoning to feature in The Batman II. This includes Colin Farrell’s Penguin, who featured in the first movie and is set to receive a series of his own.

Paul Dano’s The Riddler, as well as Barry Keoghan’s Joker, are all said to be contenders to be the major villain in the new film. Another name that has been uttered multiple times is that of Dr. Jonathan Crane, also known as The Scarecrow, in addition to Clayface and Professor Pyg, to name a few.

While there is no confirmation over what direction the upcoming release might take up, one fan clearly believes that including The Scarecrow can lead to some stellar results. Twitter user Batman Notes posted a fan-art of the potential movie poster, which featured Batman’s suit stick on a farm.

The dark poster also sees a crow perched on the costume and splendidly conveys the message without including any of the actual characters. Of course, while Batman II has a plethora of major villains to choose from, there is a good chance that the movie ends up including multiple antagonists.

Who will be the villain in Batman: Part II?

The sheer number of options available for the creators is bound to excite fans. From previously seen villains in the current narration, including Penguin and the Riddler, to some new names that have not yet seen their live-action depictions being released.

Names such as Scarecrow, Clayface, Professor Pyg, Mr. Freeze and Hush have all been cited, although fans might have to wait for considerable time before they get a confirmation. At the same time, while Pattinson’s debut movie had the Riddler as the main antagonist, several other negative characters such as Penguin and Carmine Falcone, alongside a stellar cameo from Keoghan’s Joker was also part of the movie.

This effectively means that there is a good chance the sequel simply opts for multiple villains to be a part of the narrative, although only time will tell what James Gunn and co. have in store for fans. For the time being, fans have little option but to wait for any further updates that might be forthcoming about the project.

The Batman is currently available to be streamed on Max.
