Jeremy Allen White will start filming Season 3 of his critically acclaimed show, The Bear, early next year. His portrayal of Carmy Berzatto in the series earned him the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series. White recently shared an interesting update about the upcoming season. He revealed that he is once again learning menus from top chefs and that Season 3 is expected to revisit the cooking roots seen in Season 1.
White initially gained recognition for his role as Lip Gallagher in the critically acclaimed Showtime series, Shameless. The Homecoming actor plays the role of the Von Erich wrestling family member, Kerry, in his most recent release, The Iron Claw, sharing the screen with Zac Efron.
Jeremy Allen White Sharpens His Cooking Skills For The Bear Season 3
Jeremy Allen White made an appearance on the Just for Variety podcast to promote his recently released film, The Iron Claw. While on the show, White was asked about updates on the new season of The Bear. Interestingly, the After Everything actor had little idea about what the third season was going to be.
White believed that there were a couple of scripts written for the next season, but he hadn’t read any of them yet. However, he is set to begin his preparations for the show in January, when he will spend time with some chefs, putting together a menu for the restaurant in the third season. White shared about his cooking preparations with Just for Variety:
“I do know in January I’m going to spend a fair amount of time getting together with some chefs. There’ll be a menu set, I believe, that’s going to be for the restaurant in the third season. And I know that I’m going to start putting together that menu with different chefs and cooking and just trying to get prepared to do more of that stuff on camera.”
He further revealed undergoing similar preparations and even attending a culinary school when he joined the show for the first season. However, the focus of the second season shifted to establishing a restaurant and did not involve as much hands-on cooking. Looking ahead to Season 3, White shared that the show will return to showing the “functioning kitchen atmosphere”. The Fingernails actor shared:
“We all did a lot of preparation before the first season. I went to culinary school and I spent a lot of time in restaurants and stuff. And then, for the second season, so much of it was about putting the restaurant together, so there wasn’t that much cooking. But now, in the third season, I think we’re going to go back to that functioning kitchen atmosphere that we had in the first.”
White also shared kind words about Jamie Lee Curtis, who appeared as his character’s mom, Donna, in Season 2. He added that she seamlessly fit into the established world of the show.
