Jeremy Allen White, the Bear actor has no regret over his decision of turning down a role in the MCU. While speaking to GQ, White mentioned how he had a meeting about a “Marvel-y” movie, but due to his attitude, it slipped away from his hand.

Actor Jeremy Allen White, in his interview with GQ magazine, shares his meeting with Marvel executives on a potential role for a kind of “Marvel-y” movie. But what came in between was his ego and it became a failed meeting.
He says:
“I had a meeting for a kind of Marvel-y movie, and I had an attitude,” White said.
“I think I played it all wrong.” He said he told the Marvel executives, “‘Tell me about why should I do your movie,’” which did not come off well. “They were like, ‘Fuck you,’” White recalled, “and I was like, ‘Right on.’”
But, despite all this happening, White has no regret. “I played it the way I wanted to play it,” White said.

5 Other Actors Who Have No Regrets of Turning Down MCU Role
The MCU boasts a roster of immensely talented actors, but some names stand out for having turned down roles, without any regret.
Joaquin Phoenix:
He’s not interested in acting in superhero movies. Phoenix was offered the role of Doctor Strange in the 2016 film of the same name, but he turned it down.
He felt that he would not do well in a studio full of green screens.
Emily Blunt:
Emily Blunt was offered the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2, but she turned it down. Conflicted schedules compelled her to reject the role, but Blunt has since vocalized her contentment with the decision.
On The Howard Stern Show, she said that the superhero genre was “exhausted‘ because “we are inundated — it’s not only all the movies, it’s the endless TV shows as well.”
She remains unapologetic about prioritizing her artistic journey over the allure of a superhero character.
Matt Damon:
Matt Damon was offered the part of Daredevil, but he said NO to it.
He was not impressed with the script of the film.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt:
He was approached for the male lead in Guardians of the Galaxy, but the actor gave the nod to do Sin City over any Marvel project.
Jason Statham:
He is also someone from that group of actors who turned down Marvel role. He has “no ambition” of to star in a Marvel movie as he thinks any guy can do it.

“I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they’ll put her on a green screen, and they’ll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action.“
