Recent reports by Variety convey that Amazon took The Boys for a 4th season shortly after its Season 3 premiere. By comparison, it witnessed a 17% increase in viewership from its Season 2 premiere. Amazon stated:
“Over the first three days of its third season, the worldwide audience for The Boys has grown by 17% from Season 2, and 234% from Season 1.”
Amazon confirms that The Boys’ Season 4 revival appears after Karl Urban, who is known as Billy Butcher in the series, clearly announced in March that he would come back for next season. Regardless, this was before the official announcement from Amazon.

The Boys Officially Coming Back for Season 4
Vernon Sanders, head of global television of Amazon Studios officially announced in a statement regarding the renewal.

The showrunner Eric Kripke also said in a statement regarding the renewal. He stated:
“Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more. We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”
If we talk about the show, it is based on the comic plot of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and the first two seasons of the show, created by Eric Kripke, these series were first released on Prime Video. Season 3 was done filming in September of 2021 and as per reports, it has been picked up for Season 4. The most long-awaited 3rd season started filming last January 2021 in Toronto coming after production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic phase.
