Erin Moriarty’s The Boys stint has been an enjoyable journey to witness. With its fourth installment on the horizon, fans can expect to see more of Annie January / Starlight. Besides her notable contributions to the Eric Kripke-developed satirical superhero series, the 29-year-old actress has appeared in Jessica Jones (2015), True Detective (2014), and even guest-starred in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Naturally, it’s no surprise that many up-and-coming talents and even pre-existing famed figures wish to collaborate with the two. The Boys star is no exception.
Erin Moriarty loves Fargo; she’d even contend that it’s one of her all-time top three movies. According to IMDb, the actress voiced her admiration for the filmmaking duo responsible for bringing the 1996 black-comedy crime film to life. “I have a serious obsession with the Coen brothers.” she supposedly confessed.

Her fascination with the two eminent personalities was also evidenced in an interview with Tory Burch. When asked about the movies the young actress doesn’t feel tired of watching, she reiterated her appreciation for the Frances McDormand starrer. Not only that—Moriarty’s liking for the duo’s contributions extends far and beyond Fargo. “Honestly, anything early-Coen brothers,” admitted the star.
Naturally, being awe-inspired by somebody’s work makes most yearn for a chance to transform the sentiment of reverence into one of collaboration. Per IMDb, Erin Moriarty holds similar aspirations. Affirming one of her primary career goals, the Jessica Jones alum said.
“I would love to work with the Coen brothers and Terrence Malick. I love both of their bodies of work so much, so I’m really interested in acting under their direction.”
We certainly hope for the actress’ dreams to find a footing in reality.
As for the Coen brothers, there’s no denying that reports of their reunion have invigorated thrill in movie-goers, who previously lamented their ‘split.’

The last endeavor the filmmaking duo worked on was Netflix’s The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018). Reports surfaced about their alleged “break-up” following their respective pursuit of solo endeavors. Joel Coen embarked on a journey to helm The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021).
Meanwhile, Ethan Coen took a brief sabbatical. He eventually returned with his documentary, Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind (2022). He is also set to make his narrative film debut as a solo director with the upcoming comedy road film Drive-Away Dolls.
At the time, many were quick to assume the nature of the split was permanent. However, eventually, Ethan Coen dispelled the dramatic nature of the reports revolving around his break from filmmaking. He confirmed (via Associated Press) that he had gotten bored and creating movies became “more of a grind and less fun.”
At the time, he also mentioned that the rumors of his ‘split’ with his brother weren’t based on a definitive decision and that he might work with Joel Cohen again. Now, in a recent interview with Empire, the younger of the two affirmed:
“[We are] working on writing something.”
Although the brief statement doesn’t reveal much, it does highlight how wildly inflated the rumors of their professional parting were. A little break never hurt anybody, and now the two can return as combined forces and enthrall cinephiles once again.
It’s unclear if the two will co-direct this next initiative, but hey, if they require the participation of a promising actress, one particular The Boys star would be more than willing to contribute.
