Michael B. Jordan starred in the 2015 Marvel comic-based superhero film Fantastic Four. It was directed by Josh Trank, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jeremy Slater and Simon Kinberg. The lead cast of the film included Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell. The film follows the lives of four teenagers who build a transdimensional portal that gives them superhuman abilities.
Talks about the film have suddenly become very active on social media. Fans express that the cast of the flop film had good potential, but was not utilized properly.

However, the film was a failure at the box office and grossed only $167 million worldwide against a production budget of $155 million. It was termed misguided and deviant from the original story.

Fantastic Four director received death threat for casting Michael B. Jordan
When the actors were cast for the 2015 film, reportedly, the director was threatened for life for casting a black actor for Johnny Storm’s role. In an interview with Polygon, he shared,
“For the world, I grew up in, a racially intense Los Angeles where we were used to seeing white superheroes, some of my friends who were black should have seen a black superhero. So I felt that while being in a position of power, I could change the system a little bit.”
“I was getting threats on IMDb message boards saying they were going to shoot me. I was so f—— paranoid during that shoot. If someone came into my house, I would have ended their f—— life.”
He added that after a point he began to fear for his life, and purchased a gun to keep next to his bed. He later returned it after wrapping the movie.
He adds,
“And the next day, I’m somehow in Fantastic Four.”
“When you’re in a headspace where people want to get you, you think, ‘I’m going to defend myself.'”
Michael B. Jordon also spoke about it with Entertainment Weekly,
“I can see everybody’s perspective, and I know I can’t ask the audience to forget 50 years of comic books. But the world is a little more diverse in 2015 than when the Fantastic Four comic first came out in 1961.”
Reportedly Marvel Cinematic Universe is planning a reboot of the film, which will release by 2025.
