Fans are not buying the actor’s excuse, and many speculate that Ruffalo actually revealed a spoiler. Whichever the truth is, the fans will definitely be expecting his appearance in the upcoming MCU installment.

Mark Ruffalo Seemingly Spoiled His Appearance In Captain America: Brave New World

During his interview at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, actor Mark Ruffalo claimed he will be appearing in Captain America: Brave New World. He confirmed:

Yeah. It’s going to be great… [Marvel literally has] like a drone that follows me around.”

After his multiple stints in the Avengers movies, the actor never expected he would get another shot at playing the green-fleshed monster, but Marvel boss Kevin Feige told him he would have to appear in several installments to be able to complete the Hulk’s arc.

And he’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll do that over the course of four movies. We’ll never give you a standalone Hulk…’ Let’s just get that… Don’t mean to burst your bubble, but that’s not happening. So we’ll do it over four movies.”

The following statements were debunked by the actor after fans speculated that he spoiled his appearance in the fourth Captain America movie. It turns out Ruffalo meant to say that Brave New World is one of the MCU’s next movies and not necessarily he will star in it. Fans’ reactions over Ruffalo slipping up were as hilarious as possible. Interestingly, fans had already speculated that he would appear in the film given that Hulk villain Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson) is confirmed to star in Brave New World.

It has been quite a long time since Mark Ruffalo appeared as Hulk on the big screen. His last cameo in 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law certainly teased an adaptation of a famous plot line, but the actor does not think it will happen very soon. He told Variety:

I don’t know. It certainly does suggest that. There has been some conversations about what happened in the two years where Hulk abandoned Banner and the Avengers [on Sakaar], and the emergence of Smart Hulk, which hasn’t ever fully been answered. I think maybe we’ve given four sentences to that time period since then. It’s really an interesting, exciting part of the Hulk story and Banner story.”

Ruffalo’s involvement in Captain America: Brave New World seems vague now at this point, but it is clear that the story will follow the adventures of Sam Wilson, aka Captain America (Anthony Mackie), after the events of The Falcon and Winter Soldier.

The film also includes Liv Tyler, Carl Lumbly, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Seth Rollins, and Rosa Salazar. Captain America: Brave New World will arrive in theaters on February 14, 2025.
