While he may have left the DCEU quite a while back, fans are still loyal to the films as well as the vision that Zack Snyder had for the franchise, which gave the world some of the best and most memorable films featuring superheroes and supervillains from the pages of DC Comics. Now, as it all comes crumbling down, fans cannot help but reminisce about the good old days.

As we witness the birth of a new cinematic franchise with the minds of CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran behind creating a new universe from the ground up, fans cannot help but remind themselves about the movies that DC has produced to date. What is even more surprising is the fact that despite being the new face of DC Studios, Gunn’s film pales in comparison to the love fans are showing to Snyder’s as well as other filmmakers’ projects from the past and the present.

For as long as one can remember, characters from DC Comics have been adapted and reiterated for the big screen several times in the past by Warner Bros., and therefore, we have a rich history of these films that are loved by many. Among them, Zack Snyder and his films have a special place in many people’s hearts for having an exceptional vision for a DC cinematic franchise, which tragically never fully manifested. But still, when it came to voting for their best DC movies of all time, fans were quick to stand with Snyder than with James Gunn and his film The Suicide Squad.

In a recent poll conducted on Twitter, fans were asked which DC movie according to them was the best that was ever created. There were several answers that had the names of both new and old films that different filmmakers created in their own unique way. While many were from the DCEU, there were few that were outside the franchise, like legendary director Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Trilogy.

The surprising bit was the fact that even among so many responses, there was almost no mention of Gunn’s DC project anywhere in sight.

Apart from the aforementioned vision that the director possessed for the franchise, the director had the quality and the ability to provide blockbusters with consistency. And not just for the DCEU, Snyder also created Watchmen, which is hailed as one of the best and borderline perfect superhero films in existence, which further bolsters his reputation. Along with that, his direction style rivals even the most celebrated filmmakers in the industry, which is why he has such a loyal fanbase at his side.
