Genshin Impact is a fan-favorite video game renowned for its unique art style and open-world design. The gaming community spent countless hours on this game on different platforms; however, they are bothered why it is not on the one console that could shine the most given the form factor and convenience.

Before the game was announced, early trailers confirmed it would launch on the Nintendo Switch. Players will likely play on the Nintendo console, especially in handheld mode, and take the game wherever they please; unfortunately, the console is nearing the end of its lifecycle and is out of time.

The gaming community could not understand why Genshin Impact was locked out of the Nintendo Switch. The action role-playing genre could greatly benefit from the Nintendo hybrid system given the many accessibility options that can either play it outdoors in handheld mode or keep it docked and take advantage of a massive TV screen or gaming monitor for maximum entertainment.

Fans are convinced the decision to keep the game from being listed on the Nintendo eShop is because the developers are saving it for a much more powerful console with better hardware. Recent leaks suggest that the potential release window of the Nintendo Switch successor could be closer than anticipated, and MiHoYo is spending its time optimizing the game.

Regardless, the game would have been a smashing success on the current Switch models. The numbers are off the charts, and Nintendo is slowly inching towards overthrowing the PlayStation 2 as the best-selling console in the United States of America. The more people with Switches, the greater the chances of the game being played on the go rather than on a traditional home console.

Other players also considered the hardware limitations of the current Nintendo Switch. The hybrid console is extremely underpowered compared to the competition like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and it would make sense for the developers to put this port on hold and wait for the right moment.

While it is a shame to see the game miss out on a successful console like the Switch, there is no telling how better the game will look and perform on the next system, and there is a chance it could be the first of many Nintendo Switch 2 games along with Pokémon Legends: Z-A. MiHoYo would rather delay the game than offer an unsatisfying experience.

Some fans allowed humor to dictate their thoughts about the subject and decided to look forward decades into the future for a powerful Nintendo console.

Enough time has passed, and some fans even forgot about the official port announcement.

It would be unwise to dismiss the idea of this game being made for the next- generation. Perhaps this is what the developers had in mind all along.

Nintendo does not necessarily follow the norms established by rivals and benefits from learning from their mistakes. Launching a new gaming console is vital to a company’s longevity, and Nintendo is not taking any chances.

It doesn’t matter if a game like Genshin Impact is highly demanded if the console can’t meet the system requirements. It is better to release a game right than half-baked.

The Switch has been around for the past 7 years and has accomplished wonders. However, the console is running on fumes and needs a successor.

Modern games that run on the Switch are playable, but they do not offer the best experience. Nintendo must prioritize the specs for the next-gen machine.
