This year’s The Game Awards 2023 concluded with some amazing titles rewarded for being the best in several categories. Apart from this year’s best games getting the awards, there were the usual first looks for upcoming games. There are a lot of games to look forward to next year and while some of the titles were anticipated, there were a few surprise announcements as well.

Amidst all the talk about the accolades won by the best titles to have come out this fantastic year, it’s not a bad idea to look back at all the trailers that were showcased at the year-ending grand event.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla

God of War Ragnarök is getting a DLC for free, titled Valhalla. In the reveal teaser, we see Kratos heading to Valhalla with Mimir in an epilogue to the events of Ragnarök and fighting creatures in what looks like a time-loop concept. The DLC will be available for gamers who own God of War Ragnarök on the 12th of December.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

A stunning new trailer for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was also shown off by Ninja Theory. The trailer showcased Senua in several different realms, fighting off more monsters and killing them in the most goriest ways possible.

The Rise Of The Golden Idol

The sequel to last year’s The Case of the Golden Idol received a reveal trailer, titled Rise of the Golden Idol.

The sequel will be released next year, there’s no specific release date mentioned yet. Steam’s description states that the detective game will feature 15 different cases and the game is set in the ’70s.

Marvel’s Blade

Bethesda is developing a Marvel game, centered around the Marvel superhero Blade, the teaser showed the protagonist in a deserted city of Paris, getting ready to battle. The game is currently under development.

Hideo Kojima’s New Horror Game, OD

The teaser for OD was around 100 seconds long and showcased three characters. All of them were trying to say the same sentence, and still looked very creepy.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake

Starbreeze Studios’ blockbuster game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from a decade back is getting a remake and the trailer featured a complete graphical overhaul. The game looks suited to modern consoles and will be released on the 28th of February next year.

The Trailer for Pony Island 2: Panda Circus

Pony Island was released back in 2016 and was a puzzle game that received high ratings from critics. The game’s sequel, Panda Circus got a teaser announced at The Game Awards. The teaser doesn’t give away much, apart from several different types of puzzles in various settings.

Usual June

The teaser for Finji Development Team’s Usual June follows the protagonist named June and her race against time. June is seen opening multiversal portals, fighting off neon monsters, and features other characters and what also looks like a Ghost assisting June.

SEGA is Reviving Several Classic Titles

The teaser for SEGA Power Surge revealed Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and the fan-favorite, Crazy Taxi. Towards the end of the teaser, SEGA mentioned many more titles are also under development.

Arknights: Endfield

In what is called a Technical Test Trailer, Arknights: Endfield trailer showcased what gamers can expect from the upcoming game. The teaser showed off the various combat and strategic elements.

Jurassic Park Survival Rocked The Game Awards

Universal announced Jurassic Park Survival featuring a T-Rex, a female protagonist, and a trip down memory lane by bringing back the theme music from the Jurassic Park movies of the ’90s.

Harmonium: The Musical

The teaser Harmonium: The Musical showcases a young deaf musical prodigy who produces her masterpiece despite the odds.

The teaser shows the game told through sign language and musical numbers. There’s no release date mentioned yet, but it is coming to Xbox Series consoles and will be a Day One release on Game Pass as well as Netflix Games.

Windblown

From the creators of Dead Cells, the teaser for Windblown showed a bright, colorful game with Hades-style combat. Players can get early access on PC next year, with no release date revealed yet.

Thrasher

Thrasher‘s teaser looked colorful, musical, and out of this world. The creators of the 2016 title, Thumper, revealed the teaser for Thrasher which looks quite similar to the original game with a surreal world of musical notes for players to hit.

Black Myth: Wukong

Releasing next year on the 20th of August, the trailer for Black Myth: Wukong showed the soulslike game with a graphical overhaul. The teaser featured several giant creatures and epic battles.

Warframe: Whispers In The Walls

A new gameplay trailer was shown for the upcoming chapter in Warframe, coming on the 13th of this month titled Whispers in the Walls. The 55th Warframe will launch along with Cross Platform Save and several new rewards.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

A new trailer for the highly awaited DC game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, showed more gameplay and fewer cinematic scenes. The teaser was action-packed and also revealed a limited costume for pre-orders.

Ready Or Not

The Tac Shooter Ready or Not finally received a release date, announced with a new trailer. The game is coming out later this month, on the 13th, which is less than a week away.

Tales Of Kenzera: Zau

Surgent Studios’ side-scrolling game, Tales of Kenzera: Zau was revealed with a promising trailer. The ninety-second teaser displayed an eerie similarity to Black Panther and Bast.

Exodus

Matthew McConaughey revealed a new trailer for Exodus, developed by Archetype Entertainment. The sci-fi trailer was interesting, action-packed, and hyped the audience present at The Game Awards.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Following 2018’s Monster Hunter World‘s success, Capcom revealed the teaser for Monster Hunter Wild. The splendid teaser showed stampeding monsters among many other humongous monsters as seen in the previous games from the franchise.

Kemuri

The byte-sized teaser for Kemuri showcased protagonists hunting other-worldly creatures in the middle of a sci-fi city.

No Rest for the Wicked

The creators of Ori and the Blind Forest revealed the first look of the upcoming title, No Rest for the Wicked, and the teaser looks just as stylish and colorful as expected.

The Casting of Frank Stone is the latest creation from the devs behind Dead by Daylight.

Another horror genre, set in the Dead by Daylight universe, the teaser for The Casting of Frank Stone showcased during The Game Awards was creepy and dark. The game is said to be narrative-driven.

Fortnite Rocket Racing

The creators of Rocket League revealed a teaser for Fortnite Rocket Racing, which seems to show what it would look like if Rocket League was a racing game instead. The cinematic teaser looked brilliant and it has already released to Fortnite.

The First Descendent

Coming Summer 2024, The First Descendant is a co-op action RPG and the teaser looked amazing. Apart from giant monsters, the teaser showed various mechanics at play and enhanced visuals.

Final Fantasy 16 DLCs

The two DLC packs bring new adventures to Final Fantasy 16 and will see players fighting Tonberries. Echoes of the Fallen DLC is available now while Rising Tide will come around Spring next year.

The Other Game Awards Trailers

Teaser for The Finals showed an online FPS game featuring team-based matches on colorful maps filled with destructive environments. The First Berserker: Khazan is based on the Dungeon & Fighter franchise and was revealed with an action-packed teaser. A teaser for Rise of the Ronin shows the game set in 19th-century Japan and features a plethora of weapons and equipment.

The creators of PayDay: The Heist, showed the teaser for Den of Wolves. The Heist game will let players team up with what looks like up to 3 others. Simu Liu features in Stormgate as Warz, and the teaser showed the gameplay for the real-time strategy title coming Summer next year.

The reveal trailer for Light No Fire featured a vast open world with giant, mythical creatures. The DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO teaser showed a new Budokai Tenkaichi series, featuring several major characters engaged in battle.

Visions of Mana was a highly anticipated announcement as the new title looks to revive a 15-year-old series. Square Enix put together a colorful teaser for the reveal of the game that’s coming out next year. Finally, the teaser for yet another sci-fi game, Last Sentinel was revealed with a cinematic teaser that showed bionic soldiers and civilians in Tokyo set in a distant future.
