Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets a New Gameplay Reveal Trailer at The Game Awards 2023
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been in development for over two years now. As players look to play the new game from Rocksteady Studios after a development hiatus of nearly nine years, the developers dropped a new trailer called “No More Heroes” featuring Task Force X and Justice League superheroes including Batman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, as well as Wonder Woman.
The trailer provided a fresh look at the DC Universe’s iconic superheroes and villains. We see Task Force X’s Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark going head to head with the Flash, Green Lantern, and later Superman. The trailer gave us a look at the arsenal of weapons that both DC superheroes and villains have up their sleeves.
Judging from the trailer, Batman will probably use hallucinogenic gas against the Suicide Squad, setting the stage for intense battles. The trailer also showcases The Flash’s speed and lightning bolts, Green Lantern’s hard light wreaking havoc as the world falls apart, and Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth. Viewers were shown the villains swinging and shooting with a wide variety of weaponry to take down the superheroes with highjacked minds and “save the world.”
We get a glimpse at Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League‘s gameplay as Task Force X goes against the mighty superheroes whose minds have been corrupted by Brainiac’s invasion and save humanity from the wrath of those who swore to protect it. The villains can be seen swinging and shooting at the superheroes in the new gameplay, which seems quite thrilling.
Task Force X is also possibly joined by Wonder Woman as she is seen holding The Flash with the lasso of truth about how to stop Brainiac and his response is, “You have to kill us Diana. We have to die to save the world.”
Players will be able to play Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League solo, as one of the four Suicide Squad members with AI companions, or with friends as it supports full cross-platform and cross-progression play.
However, after the backlash over the online connection to play at launch, Rocksteady Studios also revealed that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will be getting an offline mode after launch alongside the latest trailer at The Game Awards 2023.
The developer shared on the game’s official Discord server that it can be played offline post-launch. Rocksteady wrote:
In addition to our latest trailer, we also have some news to share. We’re happy to confirm we are planning to add an offline story mode that will give players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. We’re planning to provide this update in 2024 and will provide more details when available.
The world created by Rocksteady in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League looks beautiful and the gameplay that has been shown also looks fun. The recent alpha test has seen positive reception from the fans with the game now finally set to release on February 2, 2024, after several delays and will launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
