Jada Pinkett Smith’s platonic bond with Tupac

The fans of Tupac and Jada Pinkett Smith had often wondered if their bond was just friendship or more than that. Pinkett Smith had once addressed the conversation and cleared the rumors about their bond.

Contrary to popular thought about the romantic involvement between the two, there was a lack of sexual chemistry between them. The actress shared in Howard Stern’s show that they had a platonic bond.

Jada Pinkett Smith said,

“The only way I can put it is the ‘Higher Power’ just did not want that. I feel as though if Pac and I had any kind of sexual chemistry we might have killed each other because we were both so passionate and we loved deeply.”

In the interview, Pinkett Smith also shared that she didn’t feel guilty about not being on good terms with the rapper at the time of his demise. She said that he always knew that she loved him.

Jada Pinkett Smith once kissed the late rapper Tupac

In the interview, the host was curious about Jada not getting attracted to Tupac when he was her close friend. Set It Off actress replied,

“I met Tupac at the Baltimore School of the Arts. We went to High School together.”

Pinkett Smith recalled that the West Coast artist was undeniably attractive. She added that he was poor and allegedly only owned two pairs of pants and sweaters when she met him.

When the host asked if Tupac was interested in her as he wrote a poem in her honor, she said,

“It is so funny. Now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us. When you have two young people who have very strong feelings but there is no physical chemistry… between us at all. And it wasn’t even just for me. It was him too.”

The Red Table Talk host also shared that once she asked Tupac to kiss her, just to see if there was something between them. Talking about the experience, she said,

“When I tell you it had to be the most disgusting thing, kiss for us both.”

Tupac Shakur passed away in 1996 when he was just 25 years old. Jada Pinkett Smith is happily married to Will Smith.
