The actor’s performance in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon was outstanding and truth be told, he was deeply committed to the role of Ernest Burkhart. Ordinarily, when a role like Ernest Burkhart is offered to actors, they would decline it but not the Inception actor, as he would dedicate his talent to show what a man in his late 40s would be.
Interestingly, he would not steal the spotlight with his lively performance but how he made space for Lily Gladstone’s Mollie Burkhart, using his physicality, demeanor, and even silence. While casual moviegoers would call him a bland character, cinephiles, on the other hand, would find him a dedicated family man, who, in some ways looks content, but has sold his soul.

The salary is miles above Robert Downey Jr. who earned only $4 million for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss. However, giving a gripping performance in a Scorsese film or being the Highest Paid Actor of the year is not enough to earn a nomination at the Oscars, as he was missing from the list of Best Actors.
Leonardo DiCaprio Misses Out on Oscars Nomination, Again
This does not come as a surprise that the Oscars is notorious for snubbing its participants, as over the years it has often taken decisions that are not widely accepted by the fans and the actors. While DiCaprio’s portrayal in the 2023 film was praised equally by fans and critics, it came as a surprise, that when the Oscars released the list of the nominees for the Best Actors category, the Titanic actor was missing.
