Zack Snyder, the man known for bringing Henry Cavill’s stardom to newer heights with the role of Superman, has another film in mind. Tackling great franchises like the DCEU, Army of the Dead, and, Rebel Moon, Snyder now wants to work with Agent 007.
Talking about a film in another franchise, Zack Snyder revealed that he would love to take on the James Bond franchise. The actor’s vision for a would-be film, however, does not involve his old friend and British actor Henry Cavill!
Zack Snyder’s Vision For James Bond Does Not Involve Henry Cavill!
With Zack Snyder tackling the average and negative reviews of Rebel Moon, the director is already turning his head towards another franchise. Having worked on Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the director has been renowned for making superhero action movies.
Taking that compliment, Snyder revealed that he so dearly wishes to direct a movie in the James Bond franchise. In an interview with The Atlantic, Snyder talked about the available IPs out there and which of these franchises he could direct.
“I mean, like, how much IP is there? It’d be cool to see, like, 20-year-old James Bond. The humble roots that he comes from. Whatever trauma of youth that makes you be able to be James Bond. There has to be something there.”
Having said those sentences, Snyder threw away any possibility of Henry Cavill portraying the role of James Bond for even a single film. Since the actor is quite older than the 20-year James Bond that Zack Snyder wants to portray, it is evidently clear that even if Snyder got to do a James Bond movie, his dear friend Henry Cavill, will not be involved as the main lead!
Christopher Nolan Hails Zack Snyder As An Influence On Cinema!
Veteran director Christopher Nolan is no stranger to superhero movies. Having directed The Dark Knight Trilogy with Christian Bale as Batman, Nolan knows how difficult the task is. Nolan revealed in an interview with The Atlantic that Snyder’s influence on superhero movies is almost omnipresent!
“There’s no superhero science-fiction film coming out these days where I don’t see some influence of Zack [Snyder]. When you watch a Zack Snyder film, you see and feel his love for the potential of cinema. The potential of it to be fantastical, to be heightened in its reality, but to move you and to excite you.”
Although Nolan has high regard for Snyder, anti-Snyder fans are hindering the director’s progress. Having recently released his magnum opus with Netflix, Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire was met with highly negative reviews and ratings. The 2023 film received a rating of 5.7/10 on IMDB and a meager low of 25% on Rotten Tomatoes. Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
