Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal’s The Last of Us has won the hearts of the fans in only three episodes. Its fame has put it on top of any other video game adaptations. The latest episode had made fans cry with how heartbreaking it had been. Video game adaptations tend to go out of their way to be a little different from the source or recreate the character via the actor in the most authentic way possible.

A known factor that had surfaced before the series first premiered was how both Pascal and Ramsey had been told not to refer to the games let alone watch them. This was looked down upon by the fans but, in the end, the actors proved how well they could play the lead roles.

Bella Ramsey Has Started Playing The Last Of Us

Since the show aired, it has received a boatload of praise that has already given it the possibility to be renewed for another season. A somewhat rule had been established by Neil Druckmann that neither Bella Ramsey nor Pedro Pascal will play or watch the gameplay for The Last of Us. Although the actor did watch a little bit of gameplay and got familiar with the video game a bit, Ramsey had steered clear of it.

“I think I need to just get on with it. I get in a room and I look at all the details and I’m like ‘Ooh, there might be something relevant here’ and I’m just like wandering around.”

The actress recently started playing the game. She admitted to having put the game on the easiest level of difficulty and just exploring every new room and aspect that interests her. She has been so distracted by all the factors that she hasn’t even reached Ellie’s introduction.

‘And so, I decided I’m never going to do that again. And so thankfully, because games have gotten so good, like The Last Of Us, that I think I’d be in a basement and I wouldn’t even be going to audition for shows like this.’

The actor stated that he did not play the game at all and does not plan on checking it out either. Most of the cast has not interacted with the game at all so as to bring out their best versions of the characters they are portraying.

The Last of Us is now streaming on HBO Max.
