When this new story trailer was released for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we received a lot of in-depth view into many of the characters that will feature in the upcoming game, but none got as much of a reaction as Venom. During the trailer, we see a few different versions of the Venom Symbiote. It has raised a lot of questions in regards to who will be inhabited by the host; so far, the most apparent answer is that Peter will be Venom’s host for a large portion of the game, but will anyone else be Venom’s host?

From what we have seen from the trailer, the primary iteration of Venom’s host is attached to Peter as his Venom Spider Suit in its black and white aesthetic and scary aura. Still, near the end of the trailer, we see Venom in their most notable appearance as they are shown in their bulky and more animalistic version as they take down a Helicopter and roar at a crowd of civilians.

From what we see in the trailer, we do not know who is currently the host of Venom. Still, due to scenes earlier on in the trailer, it begins to pay a lot more attention to Harry Osbourne as Venom’s voice, performed by Tony Todd, starts to talk over the trailer, to which it then changes to Venom on a rampage hinting towards Harry being the most likely candidate to be Venom’s more enraged host.

What theories do the fans have about Venom and its host?

Looking through Twitter and Youtube comments, we can see that a lot of the fans have started to give their guesses towards who will be Venom’s host, and so far, we can get aboard with some, were as some go a little bit further out there.

Most of the theories tend to stick with the common idea that both Harry and Peter will be the only hosts of Venom, sticking with their usual rivalry of who will become Venom’s primary host, with Peter taking Venom’s Symbiote for a limited time as it slowly drives him more and more aggressive till he eventually gives it up and Harry slowly dying then takes on the Symbiote as part of himself to help him save the world before he dies. This is hinted by Harry being shown in the trailer walking with a cane as his illness which has been indicated to over the past few games begins to take hold.

Some fans have taken the theories to a whole new level as some fans have suggested that even though Insomniac has confirmed Eddie Brock will not feature in the game, somehow he will be Venom’s primary host. Some fans have gone so far as to say that the likes of MJ or Miles could take Venom’s host at some point in the story. These theories may be pretty far-fetched, but no one can know what Insomniac has planned for this new instalment in the Spider-Man franchise as they have already stated that this will not be a normal Venom story-line similar to the comics, but this doesn’t stop it from happening.
