The Mandalorian is finally awaiting its fourth season as Pedro Pascal’s show’s third season got a somewhat decent ending. The audience’s response was not that great either, considering that the entire season had been underwhelming with the exception of some sequences. What was being shown to the fans was not exactly what they had wanted. Whether it was the focus on other characters or the climax itself.

They had a good amount of complaints that led to the season not being the best one. In fact, it was the exact opposite of that. The next season has a lot of hopes, posing as a redemption for what the previous season gave out. Furthermore, with the involvement of other series as well, the story of Din Djarin and Grogu can continue outside of The Mandalorian as well or be influenced more by them.

How Did The Third Season Of The Mandalorian Disappoint Pedro Pascal’s Fans?

After the third season of The Mandalorian failed to live up to the fans’ expectations, the fourth season has a lot of people relying on it. Although a lot of lore was dropped, not all of it was liked by the audience. Specifically with the lore about the Mandalorians. The fame that Pedro Pascal has gained in the last few years has driven a lot of fans to watch his shows even more. However, when fans were met with a majority of scenes with Din Djarin only with his helmet, they were not pleased. Conversations were not as emotional, primarily those between other Mandalorians.

The climax and finale lacked a lot of depth and people were left wanting to see more, not because the ending was pleasing, but because it felt incomplete. Jon Favreau has already confirmed that scripts for the fourth season are basically ready and that although they do not know when the season will start filming, let alone release, they are looking forward to seeing Grogu and Din Djarin work together.

Katie Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze

The finale itself seemed lackluster and a lot of questions remained unanswered. A lot of Katie Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze storyline was given more focus rather than that of Grogu and Din Djarin. This managed to disappoint a lot of fans because even though they managed to resolve her issues, the story still seemed all over the place.

Could Outside Shows Influence The Fourth Season Of The Mandalorian?

Two other series tie in with The Mandalorian. Namely, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. While the latter is yet to release, the former did not get that great of a response. Rosario Dawson’s series has a lot of expectations and is set to release before the fourth season of Pedro Pascal’s series. A massive impact that her series can have on his is none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn when she is introduced in Pascal’s series for the first time and since then the villain has been confirmed to appear in her series as well.

All these series have to go at a unified pace such that their stories end in an epic crossover in Dave Filoni’s movie. The fourth season of the series could rework itself after the third season did not perform as well. It could learn from where the focus of its audience goes and where it doesn’t. Understanding what stories work and what don’t can be a very integral task, something that has been proven by the mere existence of Andor as a series.

Seeing that before the fourth season ever comes out, Ahsoka will make a mark in Star Wars fans’ hearts. It can be assumed that The Mandalorian will not be returning until 2025.

The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett are now streaming on Disney+ and Ahsoka will start streaming on Disney+ in August of 2023.
