Ever since Marvel introduced Kang the Conqueror as its main villain for the foreseeable future, fans have noticed that something was missing. The character simply did not resonate with audiences, and what started as a feeling exploded into something so much bigger. So much so, that Jonathan Majors’ conviction was not the only reason why fans wanted this character out.
Since it was announced that Marvel was parting ways with the actor, fans have been curious about the direction the franchise is going to take in its sixth phase. While there have been many theories floating around detailing anything from recasts to reboots, it would seem that there is one that would make perfect sense.
A New Villain in Town
It was recently reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Ralph Ineson has been cast in the role of Galactaus in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is set to assume the role in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Fans could not be more excited at the news, as he is one of the most iconic villains from Marvel Comics.
There is no denying the power Gallactus holds, being able to overpower some of the strongest heroes and villains with a small portion of his power. Not only is the cosmic being physically very large, but the gluttony of his being makes him terrifying on a much grander scale.
These characteristics have made fans very hyped for his entry into the MCU.
The Kang-sized Hole in the MCU Might Get Filled
While fans would not mind Galactus entering the MCU for only one project, there is no denying that his character has a lot more potential. He is one of the most well-known comic book villains of all time, having several iconic characters and being more powerful than one can comprehend. Knowing this, it could be possible that Marvel could use him as their replacement for Kang the Conqueror.
While Kang is quite a well-known villain and has a lot of potential, Marvel has fumbled the bag with him more than once. Knowing that every single variant of Kang has been defeated at some point or another does not make him as threatening as the franchise would like.
Rather than continuing to bark up this wrong tree, they could be changing their direction altogether. Galactus is certainly interesting enough to become the main villain for the following phase and replace the Kang storyline completely.
Not only do audiences like him more, but he is also far more powerful and threatening than a group of variants.
