This 2021 Action/Comedy film cost the streaming giant a whopping $200 Million to create, and when it achieved its goal of becoming the most-watched on the platform’s history with over 450 Million hours watched, it was well worth the cost. Considering the film also boasted a star cast including Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, it’s no wonder the film’s cost went through the roof.
Seeing the success of the first films, there have been reports of two new projects in the works by Netflix to further cash in on the popularity of the film. The production of these films is claimed to happen back to back, and the shooting may have already started as it was stated to take off somewhere in late 2023 by director and writer Rawson Marshall Thurber.

The project in question is the 2022 Action/Thriller film The Gray Man, which boasted a star cast of Ana de Armas, Ryan Gosling, and Chris Evans, along with the director duo of The Russo Brothers helming the project with a budget of $200 Million. The film has been dubbed a success and has been viewed more than 250 Million hours since its release, which has led the OTT platform to announce a sequel of the film, the release date for which is yet to be announced.
