Todd Phillips’ Joker 2 has created ample buzz as the movie is designed to be huge with Joaquin Phoenix’s inherent charisma as the titular DC villain Joker. The Joker standalone movie itself is a huge deal and getting a sequel makes the project even more exciting.
Joker 2 stars Lady Gaga alongside Phoenix. While the movie is set to be a musical, fans were skeptical about it. But a recent update from an insider revealed that it will retain the prowess of the first installment which was a huge hit crossing the $1 billion mark.
Insider Revealed Joker 2 Test Screen Report
Warner Brothers is confident in Joker 2 as they have poured a whopping $200 million into the Todd Phillips-directed movie (per Variety), a huge acceleration considering the $60 million budget of the first movie. Amid several reports on the film, a recent report from industry insider Grace Randolph revealed the test screening report.
As per Randolph, Joker 2 met with positive reactions at the screening,
“I hear the movie looks phenomenal. I hear it looks really, really good. The people behind the movie feel confident the trailer is going to deliver – they feel really good about it,” Randolph said (via Pop Crave).
Joker 2 has not released a trailer for the movie yet but Phillips has shared glimpses of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker alongside Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn. For Phillips and Warner Brothers, the ‘elsewhere’ DC movie has been an ambitious project that already has a huge fanbase.
Fans Hailed Joker 2 Ahead Of The Trailer Release
Other than some behind-the-scenes glimpses of the movie Joker 2 doesn’t have a trailer as of yet but it is expected to be released in CinemaCon 2024, around 8-11 April. Still, the hype about the movie has not diminished and following the report of the test screening, fans have hailed the movie once again.

Joker 2, officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux which translates to shared madness of two, essentially hints at the madness of romance between Joker and Harley Quinn. Other than the duo, Zazie Beetz is set to reprise her role from the first installment, Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener also joined the cast of the film.
Warner Brothers has scheduled the Joker 2 release on October 4, 2024.
