After staying incognito from the entertainment industry for quite some years, the once admired The Mummy actor Brendan Fraser recently won the Academy Awards in 2023. Following his Oscar win, the actor recalled his 1992 film School Ties, alongside Matt Damon, in one episode of The Howard Stern Show.
Appearing on the talk show podcast, Brendan Fraser pulled back the curtain on one particular scene alongside Matt Damon, from the 1992 movie. Discussing the infamous shower fight, the actor noted how they both were completely naked while filming. That’s a shocking revelation.

Brendan Fraser Recalled His 1992 Movie With Matt Damon
Starting his career in Hollywood with a brief role in his 1991 debut movie – Dogfight, Brendan Fraser quickly rose to fame because of his prolific performance and good looks. Exactly the next year in 1992, the actor starred in two movies Encino Man and School Ties, wherein the former film turned out to be his Hollywood breakthrough.
But the second film, School Ties featuring another rising star Matt Damon, became etched in Brendan Fraser’s memories. Thereafter, the actor appeared in several acclaimed projects and even made his way into the renowned Mummy franchise that turned him into a household name. However, gradually Fraser lost his charm in the industry and simply faded out.
Nonetheless, recently, Brendan Fraser restarted his career with Darren Aronofsky’s 2022 thriller drama – The Whale. The movie not only catapulted Fraser’s fame but also won him an Oscar. Once again becoming relevant in the industry, the actor appeared on The Howard Stern Show, and quite shockingly recalled his 1992 movie School Ties, featuring Matt Damon.
Brendan Fraser’s Naked Revelation From School Ties
Discussing his 1992 movie during the podcast, Brendan Fraser pulled the curtain on a particular shower scene that featured him and Matt Damon, completely naked. Well, that’s a shocking revelation to share with audiences, but Fraser seemed to remember the scene quite vividly and was glad to share it.
The scene involved Dillon (Matt Damon) revealing to the football team, after the game, that David (Brendan Fraser) was Jewish. This eventually led the pair to come to blows while being in the locker room. And recalling that particular scene, Fraser noted how he and Damon actually shot the scene completely naked.

“I appreciated that this isn’t really for wow or a scintillating factor of going, ‘Hey, look at that. Naked people’. The point of it was that when Damon’s character says what he says about David, he just reveals who he is. His anti-Semitism and his prejudice is stripped down naked and it’s ugly. And the door is locked and they fight over it like shaved apes that need to be pulled apart.”
Narrating the rawness of the scene, Brendan Fraser acknowledged that it was a “scary” experience to be completely n*de on a film set. Discussing how School Ties was one of his initial movies and he was ambitious to rise, Fraser noted the naked scene could have turned bad and ruined his career. But fortunately, he had great castmates and crew, who helped him move forward.
