The Conjuring can easily be called one of the most well-known and iconic films to come out of the horror movie genre. What started off as a simple and terrifying horror film very quietly turned into a universe of its own, having some of the most terrifying films known to mainstream media. With film series like The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Curse of La Llorona, and The Nun being part of it, fans have become deeply invested in the world that has been created around the lives of real-life experiences of the paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The most recent addition to this franchise has been The Nun 2, following the first film, The Nun. With the film having only recently been released, fans have become obsessed with what this film has set up. Outside of the plot of this movie, it features a mid-credit scene which may have just set up the future of the entire franchise and completely changed the way we look at things.

Does The Nun 2 Have A Post-Credit Scene?

It has become quite a common practice in Hollywood for big productions and franchises of all kinds to insert post-credit scenes in their films. Be it setting up future projects or fun easter eggs as a reward for audiences who waited longer in the theater, fans always love seeing their characters again after watching the lengthy credits of movies. Though famously done by superhero films, over time, this practice has been taken up by all genres including the horror genre.

While The Conjuring franchise has not actively participated in this activity in the past, with only one film having an end-credit scene, it would seem that they are now as outside of the plot of The Nun 2, the film is expected to feature a mid-credit scene which may have just set up the future of the entire franchise and completely changed the way we look at things.

What Does The Nun 2 Mid-Credit Set Up For The Conjuring Universe?

The mid-credit scene in The Nun 2 is certainly something that fans of the franchise should not skip as it teases the direction in which the franchise may be going as the scene features the long beloveds of the series, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, in their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Starting off outside of the Warren household, we hear Wilson’s character receiving a phone call. Upon picking up the phone, we find out that the person on the other line is Father Gordon who is asking for the Warren family’s assistance in another supernatural occurrence.

With this, the film has, once again hinted at the connection of Warrens and Sister Irene, the protagonist of The Nun series. While not much can be said of what the exacts are when it comes to what this scene is setting up, what is clear is that this is related to the next film to come in the franchise, the much anticipated, The Conjuring 4.
