Chris Hemsworth is the latest actor to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His Marvel co-star Robert Downey Jr. was present at this special occasion. While the other OG Avengers stars couldn’t make it to the ceremony, they sent their best wishes via Downey Jr. Knowing their bond, it wouldn’t be a surprise that the stars chose to roast Hemsworth on his special day.
While the fellow Avengers had some pretty on-point things to say about Hemsworth in their roasts, it was Chris Evans with his savage one-liner that stood out. The recognition came a day before Hemsworth’s movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga opened in theaters.
Chris Evans Had The Best Roast For Chris Hemsworth Among The OG Avengers
From not knowing what a Hollywood Walk of Fame star actually is, Chris Hemsworth has come a long way to achieve it finally. He told Variety the funny story of how he thought another instance to be his moment of recognition at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2019, the Avengers: Endgame stars were asked to put their handprints in cement at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
Hemsworth honestly thought that it was his big moment before someone corrected him. However, his recognition did come five years later on Thursday. Robert Downey Jr., his Furiosa co-star Anya Taylor-Joy, director George Miller, and his wife Elsa Pataky were present during the ceremony. Downey Jr. had a few words to say, not only from him but also from the other Avengers stars (via ET).
He specifically asked their OG Avengers co-stars to roast Hemsworth and they came out with the best answers. Jeremy Renner shared that the Spiderhead actor was “absurdly, annoyingly amazing”. Mark Ruffalo made a perfect callback to the Thor: Ragnarok moment where Thor described his relationship with Hulk — a “friend from work”.
Scarlett Johansson called the Extraction actor the “sensitive leading lady”. However, Chris Evans‘ three words made the audience laugh out loud. He called Hemsworth the “second best Chris” implying that he was the better one between the two of them. With these comments, Downey Jr. declared Hemsworth as the “Hollywood star recipient.”

On a serious note, Robert Downey Jr. had some great words to describe his decade-old friendship with Chris Hemsworth. The Oppenheimer star shared that Hemsworth carried a “contagious Aussie charm” beyond his cape and hammer. He called him a “remarkable human being” and a “legend”.
Downey Jr. shared that the Terminator One actor has a true wit and depth of soul. He shared that it was his pleasure to know him and added that he’s just the “real deal”. Downey Jr. shared in his speech (via Variety | YouTube):

During his speech, Hemsworth acknowledged his wife, Elsa Pataky, sharing that she put aside her own dreams to support his dreams. He added that none of his special occasions or events would be special without her by his side.
Hemsworth’s Marvel films are now available for streaming on Disney+. Furiosa is now running successfully in theaters.
