Being given a free hand at DC gave The Suicide Squad director a lot of power and responsibility to improve the franchise name. Although Gunn can have his wish fulfilled at any instant, there were several untouchable projects that he was not allowed to interfere with no matter the situation.

After conflicting reports of the cancelation of Gal Gadot starrer Wonder Woman 3, the reports aren’t sure if Gunn was involved in the decision or not. Patty Jenkins’ directed Wonder Woman 3 happened to be one of the unreachable projects that James Gunn would not interfere with. The list also included upcoming movies like The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Todd Phillip’s JokerFolie à Deux, and, Blue Beetle. Following the cancelation of Wonder Woman 3 and the removal of Henry Cavill from the DCU, many fans are conflicted and await the upcoming movies to see how Gunn would change the face of the DCU moving forward.
