Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 251 leaks have shown that Megumi Fushiguro is almost at his end, not having any will to live anymore. It has been some time since Ryomen Sukuna tricked Yuji Itadori, took over Megumi’s body, and wreaked havoc throughout the Culling Games arc. No one can stand up to him. He even killed Satoru Gojo using Divine General Mahoraga.
Ryomen Sukuna knew Megumi would not give up so easily, so he killed all of his close ones to make his soul fall into despair. The leaks featured a curled-up Megumi who has no will left to live with Yuji standing in front of him. But the fans believe Yuji is the only one who can bring him back from despair.
Yuji Itadori is Megumi Fushiguro’s Only Hope
The first thing Sukuna did after taking over Megumi’s body was to kill his sister Tsumiki. Tsumiki was possessed by Yorozu. He killed her using the Ten Shadows technique to make Fushiguro get deeper into despair and break his spirit. After that, he also killed his sensei. So, the Jujutsu sorcerers devised a plan to extract him from Sukuna’s grasp. It would be beneficial for them since it would also weaken the King of Curses.

Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori formed a tag team and simultaneously attacked Sukuna. After landing a few blows, Yuji finally managed to pierce through Sukuna to reach Megumi’s soul, only to find him in a pitiful state. Even though Megumi declared that he is not willing to live anymore, fans believe Yuji Itadori is the only one who can bring back him to his normal state.
Megumi Fushiguro is a selfless guy who is willing to sacrifice himself for his close one. On top of that, he is barely seen to laugh normally and not maniacally. After Yuji returned to life thanks to a binding vow with Ryomen Sukuna, Megumi smiled in relief. Even though it was only for a fraction of a second, it looked as if he was relieved to know Yuji was alive.
Even though they had known each other for a few days, they formed a close relationship with each other. Fushiguro is pretty relieved to see Yuji alive, so it gives a hint to the audience that he feels a close connection to him. This close connection could be the key that brings back him to his former self and mortally injures Sukuna.
Megumi Fushiguro Is An Unlucky Character
Megumi Fushiguro is destined to be the next head of the Zen’in clan, but he never had any privileges from the beginning. His mother died when he was an infant, and his father worked as an assassin and was killed by his sensei. His step-sister was bedridden and woke up after a powerful sorcerer took over her body. Unfortunately, his technique was used to kill her step-sister and then her sensei.
Whatever little happiness he had was all taken from him. So, it is natural for him to have no willingness to go back to his normal life. But Yuji is not someone who will give up because he is his friend. So, Megumi still has someone that he can look up to. For the moment, this is just a theory. Until the chapter is released, nothing will be known for sure. The fans have their fingers crossed and do not want to see Gege Akutami kill another fan-favorite character.
