Robert Pattinson, one of the most talented English actors, embarked on his acting journey when he was 15. After playing supporting roles in the German made-for-television film Ring of the Nibelungs in 2004 and Mira Nair’s costume drama Vanity Fair, he landed the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005.
The role of Cedric Diggory helped Robert Pattinson earn recognition in the industry. Then came his portrayal of Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, based on Stephenie Meyer’s eponymous novel series. Although this role gained him worldwide recognition, the actor is not very fond of it. In 2022, he finally got the chance to portray the DC Comics superhero Batman and might be reprising his role sooner than fans had expected.
Robert Pattinson Might Be Returning as Batman in The Penguin Series
Robert Pattinson has played his share of fantasy roles with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and The Twilight Saga. After appearing in a string of critically acclaimed independent films, he transitioned back to mainstream cinema with Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
After Ben Affleck parted ways with his role as Batman, director Matt Reeves began writing the story for 2022’s The Batman with Robert Pattinson in his mind for the role of Bruce Wayne. Although the casting choice was initially met with backlash, the movie was praised by critics and audiences alike.
Now, about two years later, The Devil All the Time star is allegedly reprising his role as the DC superhero for The Batman spin-off series- The Penguin. Although this spin-off series is not exactly relevant to the main continuity of the DC Universe, it is one of the most anticipated superhero series of this year.
As the first season of The Penguin‘s production is wrapping, an X user Maybe: Will Smith (Banned from X?) posted a tweet claiming that Pattinson was reportedly seen on the set of the series.

This is not the first time that the Damsel actor has been rumored to be appearing in the series. Since the series’ major focus is on businessman Oswald Cobblepot, there is a chance that Pattinson will only appear as Batman’s civilian identity- Bruce Wayne.
Everything Known About The Penguin
The Penguin is a Max miniseries that will see Collin Farrell return as the series’ titular role from 2022’s The Batman. The show, consisting of eight episodes, follows the Penguin’s rise to power in Gotham City’s criminal underworld.
Lauren LeFranc is overseeing the project as the writer and showrunner of the series. While Mare Of Easttown helmer Craig Zobel is directing the first two episodes of The Penguin, Helen Shaver is also going to direct the series.
The Penguin is scheduled to be released on Max in late 2024.
