His wife, Penélope Cruz, is also a stunning woman who has also appeared in several hit films.

Hollywood celebrity couples and their glamorous lives have been the fascination of the media over the years. The media can go overboard at times with their questions about a couple’s dynamic and it can trigger them. Even jokes made about a couple can turn surprisingly violent, as seen with the Will Smith-Chris Rock slap incident at the 2022 Oscars over Rock’s jokes about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
The industry has also had the infamous notion that celebrity couples find it hard to work together. However, actors like Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz have proved that wrong by starring in 9 films together including Jamón Jamón, Not Love, Just Frenzy, Don’t Tempt Me, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Everybody Knows, and others.
However, the media went ahead of themselves and asked a rather rude and sexist question about the couple to Bardem. At the Cannes press conference for Everybody Knows, a reporter asked the actor about his feelings about being the only man who enjoys working with his wife. Bardem was certainly taken aback by such a question but he had the perfect response (via YouTube).
Bardem chuckled and shook his head before telling the reporter that “the question is of an extremely bad taste”. The mic drop moment was followed by well-deserved cheers and claps from the crowd. When compared to the Smith situation, Bardem handled the uncomfortable situation with a real class act and gave a befitting answer instead of making the moment more awkward.
Javier Bardem Gushes About Working With Brad Pitt in An Upcoming F1 Film
Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt are currently shooting for their upcoming F1 sports drama film. Pitt will play a former F1 racer who is hired by a Formula One team owner, played by Bardem, to mentor a rookie driver played by Damson Idris. In an interview with Wired, Bardem opened up about how grew up watching Pitt who’s unafraid to drive a real F2 car in the film.
The Dune star had high praise for Pitt, calling him a very open person and he made him incredibly comfortable and relaxed on set with his carefree energy. Bardem said,
Brad [Pitt] is driving a real car, an F2 car. An F2 car goes fast. I grew up watching Brad Pitt, and I think he’s an amazing actor. We had so much fun. He’s so open, he’s so in the game. He doesn’t care, he is like, “Bring it on.” And we played tennis and it was fantastic.
Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski is directing this ambitious film which is described as “a cinematic event perhaps unlike any other” by President of International Theatrical Distribution of Warner Bros Andrew Cripps at the CineEurope event recently (via Deadline). The untitled F1 film will hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
