Netflix’s Daredevil series is often considered one of the greatest superhero shows ever. Fans praise it for offering the most genuine and authentic portrayal of Daredevil, with Charlie Cox delivering the performance of his career. Alaqua Cox is currently in the Daredevil universe Maya Lopez/Echo in Echo, which is the spinoff to Hawkeye. Now, Cov revealed that one Marvel superhero she wants to work with.
All good things must come to an end, and Daredevil was no exception. The show concluded after its third season on Netflix when the streaming platform ceased producing Marvel shows. As mentioned earlier, Charlie Cox is set to reprise his role in the MCU very soon, creating excitement among fans eagerly awaiting its release.
Alaqua Cox Unveils The One Marvel Superhero She Wants To Collaborate With
Alaqua Cox has made a name for herself for portraying the role of Maya Lopez/Echo in Hawkeye a couple of years ago. In fact, she will be reprising her role as the mute assassin in the Disney+ show Echo set to drop next week.
ComicBook.com interviewed Alaqua Cox prior to the show’s premiere and asked about her dream Marvel character to share the screen with. Like many Marvel stars before her, Cox expressed a desire to work with Spider-Man.
“I get that question a lot, but the simple answer is Spider-Man.”
Considering the fact that all the current Marvel shows take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it wouldn’t be hard to see Echo and Spider-Man working in the same show or movie somewhere down the line.

Alaqua Cox’s Echo Will Be More Violent And Darker Than Marvel’s Usual Fare
In an exclusive interview with RadioTimes, Sydney Freeland, the executive producer and director of Echo, revealed that the show will embrace a villainous storyline, marking Marvel’s first TV-MA series. Freeland expressed the intention to delve into a more grounded, street-level, and grittier storyline for the show.
“This will be Marvel’s first TV-MA series… We always knew that we wanted to tell a story that was a little more grounded, it was a little more street level, it was a little grittier.
In discussions with Marvel about the character, Sydney Freeland made it clear that the goal is explicitly not to transform Echo into a traditional Marvel hero like Captain America, as Freeland finds that concept uninteresting.
“In conversations with Marvel, as we were talking about the character, the response was, like, ‘Let’s lean into that, let’s see how far we can go down that rabbit hole. Really, as we come into the series, Maya Lopez is a villain. But the goal is not to turn her into Captain America. No, no, no. That, to me, is actually kind of boring.”
Freeland aims to explore the complexities and dynamics of her character, delving into the intriguing journey of a deaf indigenous girl rising to a top lieutenant in Kingpin’s army. Echo will avoid the conventional tropes of good vs evil when it comes to Captain America. We’ll have to wait and see how the show will turn out once it releases on January 9th.
