When Ruffalo got diagnosed with a brain tumor, his wife Sunrise Coigney was nine and a half months pregnant with their child. In an interview with Smartless Podcast, Mark Ruffalo talked about how his wife reacted when she got the news.

“Sunrise was, like, nine and a half months pregnant, and the baby was imminently coming. I had one of those 4 am calls, and I woke up probably around 3 am, and I just had this crazy dream. It wasn’t like any other dream I’d ever had. It was just like, ‘You have a brain tumor…[The doctor] comes in, and she kind of looks like a zombie.”

He further continued,

“You have a mass behind your left ear the size of a golf ball. We don’t know what it is, we can’t tell until it’s biopsied. When I told Sunny about it, first she thought I was joking,” he explained. “And then she just burst into tears and said, ‘I always knew you were gonna die young!’”

The tumor was thankfully treated but he was left with one deaf ear and had various side effects post-surgery. The actor was last seen in the 2023 film All The Lights We Cannot See for which he received rave reviews. He is currently associated with 3 other upcoming projects in various stages of development but who knows, if his comments might have some consequences on his career!
