Fans have taken to the internet to speculate about who could make an appearance in the film, and given that Deadpool and the X-Men were Fox’s properties. Sony had a slew of parallel properties from Marvel functioning simultaneously, and it is expected that characters from those films are going to make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

This has caused people to attribute what is like a cameo in one of the film’s posters to a key character from Fox’s first attempt at a Fantastic Four franchise: Chris Evan’s Johnny Storm.

While there has been a slew of theories making the rounds on the internet about Evans returning to the MCU as Captain America, it seems more likely that the actor might make a cameo as Johhny Storm before characters like Captain America and Iron Man return to the mainline universe.

Given that Fox owned a slew of characters from Marvel Comics, like Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, There was a time when Fox was looking into adapting Marvel’s Civil War storyline involving the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, one that would also bring in the Skrulls and set up the Secret Invasion storyline for the Fox Universe of Marvel characters.

However, this never came to fruition, but the Fantastic Four that we saw on screen in 2005’s Fantastic Four might finally get the chance (in part) to share the screen with a few of the X-Men, if the rumors end up being accurate.

With rumors circulating that the film’s villain, Cassandra Nova, will just be one of the various multiversal villains making their way into the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine might introduce the villain that the coming films will focus on, leading up to Avengers 5.
