What the actor has not experienced is being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While actors of his age and stature diss the MCU for not being “peak cinema”, Hanks revealed that he’d love to be a part of the MCU if offered the chance.

Tom Hanks, being one of the elites, refused to join his friends as he went on to hail the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the finest. While in the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the Captain Phillips actor was asked whether Marvel Studios had ever approached him for a role in the MCU. Tom Hanks’s answer was quite shocking for people to hear.

“No, not to my knowledge have they. I do not know. You can maybe say that the John Ford universe of Westerns is not that different, perhaps, than the Marvel universe of motion pictures. If it’s a bodacious John Ford Western, would you do it? You might do that.”

From his statements, it was evident that the actor would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe if given the chance. What’s different from the other veteran actors is that Tom Hanks actually praised the MCU for being great.

What’s different about Tom Hanks is that the actor actually liked the MCU for what it is and stated that there are indeed some great performances in it.

“Look, I haven’t seen [every MCU movie]. I’ll give you that right now, but the ones I’ve seen I’ve never come away from [them] without thinking, ‘There are a couple of great performances in there. Man, those people really gave their all.'”

Although the Angels & Demons actor hasn’t been offered a role yet, it seems that Hanks may soon get an opportunity to star in the MCU much like Harrison Ford.
