“My experience was even more complicated because on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous. I was just the son of somebody famous so I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition and that created a lot of contempt. A lot of contempt for me.

There’s a lot of advantages but sometimes it can be pretty weird. I got to do a lot of cool shit that a lot of people don’t get the opportunity to do. I got to travel the world, stay in nice hotels, fly on private planes and I’m very blessed for that. I wouldn’t change my situation.”

Chet Hanks, Tom Hanks‘ son opened up in a YouTube video about how he suffered a great deal during his entire childhood days. He claimed that he was always defensive against strangers and most of his classmates from school or college would try to befriend him, only to gain some clout.

This put a lot of pressure on the youngster as his life spiraled down the wrong path for quite some time. Although he is perfectly fine now, he recalls not being a spoiled brat, unlike popular opinion. Chet Hanks further states that he is forever grateful to his parents for the facilities they have provided him with and the lessons they imparted to him, resulting in him being a better person today.
