FromSoftware’s award-winning Elden Ring is a masterpiece known for its state-of-the-art storytelling and lore. The game somehow manages to make the player often feel pity for defeating the worst of the bosses at times.

While the boss fight of General Radahn would be a pretty good example of what is stated above, there exists a demigod that has suffered a worse fate than even Radahn. We are talking about Morgott, the Omen King, who was born to Queen Marika and Godfrey, but was not considered to be a part of the order and was thrown down in the sewers of Leyndell at birth.

Morgott is just another character in Elden Ring that does not fail to make you sympathize with them and their backstories, proving once again how well the game is structured and made.

Why Morgott From Elden Ring Was Dealt A Bad Card In Life

As mentioned before, Morgott was born to Queen Marika and the first Elden Lord, Godfrey. He was the brother of Godrick and Mohg, who was another omen. Omens are suggested to be born with a curse and witness the growth of horns on themselves.

While Omens born to commoners usually have their horns cut off while they are still young, resulting in their causality. Omens born to nobility such as Morgott are forever hidden away to rot forever in the underground areas of Leyndell’s capital.

Morgott remained loyal to the Greater Will as well as the Erdtree and protected it till its very last breath. It is speculated he wore rags and worn-down clothes to occasionally remind himself who he truly is. If Queen Marika had not been superstitious, Morgott could have had a normal life instead of being in the shackles of an omen.

Players get the opportunity to meet Morgott as their first demigod in the game in the form of Margit, the Fell Omen. Margit is encountered as the player makes their way towards the Stormveil castle to obtain their first great rune from Godrick.

Difference Between Mohg And Morgott As Omens In Elden Ring

Morgott and Mohg were twin brothers, and both were locked in the underground sewers of Leyndell since their birth. While Morgott stayed behind with the Erdtree to protect it and the Golden Order, Mohg had other plans.

Mohg after escaping was able to become the lord of blood as granted by the Outer God called The Formless Mother. He soon after hatched a plan to remove the curse of Omens from the Lands Between by starting a Dynasty. He planned to do the same by kidnapping Miquella, his half-brother and an empyrean, to become his consort and finally start the Omen dynasty.

While he was able to successfully kidnap Miquella from the Haligtree and started performing grotesque experiments with his blood, Miquella failed to respond and till today stays confined within a cocoon.

Miquella is now expected to return to the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for the game, as hinted by the key art for the same. Fans predict that the new content will revolve and reveal more about the character of Miquella, the twin brother of Malenia. The DLC is expected to be released in late February, near Elden Ring’s second-anniversary celebrations on 25th February 2024.

Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
