Kanye West used to be the elite of the elite celebrities, all because of his spectacular vocals that transformed him into a literal phenomenon in the rapping industry. However, his recent controversial actions and statements have landed him in more than enough trouble, and are now seemingly costing him his prized friendships with other celebrities as well.

As many would already know, West has been a longtime friend of Leonardo DiCaprio, both privately and publicly. However, at his appearance at the recently held Super Bowl LVIII, he wasn’t quite given the warmest of welcomes and was seemingly even given the cold shoulder by this very pal of his, as reported by sources.

Yes, the recently held 58th Super Bowl, 2024 did, in fact, make Kanye West go viral once again — though this time, for something genius — through his unique $0 Yeezy’s commercial; we’ll credit that win to him. However, the rapper also seemingly lost quite a lot. Like his respect and appreciation among fellow celebrities.

This included his longtime pal Leonardo DiCaprio as well. As recently reported by Page Six through sources, the Runaway singer wasn’t given the warmest of welcomes at the event by his fellow celebrities. Making it all the worse for him was his longtime pal and renowned Titanic alum, who reportedly gave him the cold shoulder as well.

Even after spotting him in the crowd, DiCaprio is reported to have still gone ahead to ignore him. At one point, the sources thought that the Django Unchained actor perhaps nodded at West to acknowledge him, as per Page Six. However, these same sources then confirmed later on that that was not the case, and that:

“There’s was no interaction whatsoever.”

Moreover, the reports further claim that Kanye West was never invited to the Raising Cane’s Super Bowl suite — which was notably packed by Hollywood A-listers — nor was he a guest. Despite all of this, the Can’t Tell Me Nothing singer reportedly still went ahead to drop into the suites. As per what the sources claimed:

“He came in for a few minutes with his wife [Bianca Censori]. He was just like a guy dropping into suites, like, ‘Can I stick around for a minute? Can I get a free drink?’”

However, what’s more disheartening to see than West dropping around uninvited to suites filled with A-listers was Leonardo DiCaprio’s reportedly harsh treatment of him publicly at the Super Bowl LVIII; even more so after considering the long history of seemingly being good friends that the two shared in the past.

Just like almost every other friendship that buds up between artists in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kanye West seemingly used to be good friends themselves as well. This was derived after the pair were spotted hanging out together on occasions more than once, as well as through their socials.

According to Page Six, back in 2013, West reportedly even performed at his pal DiCaprio’s 39th birthday party at Tao Downtown through a surprise show planned by him and his fellow American rapper, 2 Chainz. Then there was also the time when the I Wonder singer went wild on his as X handle @kanyewest DiCaprio bagged his first-ever Oscar for The Revenant.

However, those long years of friendship have been seemingly laid down to rest by Leonardo DiCaprio after the massive controversy that Kanye West attracted following his “unplanned” anti-semitic outbursts and rants at his fans, which reportedly cost him multiple of his brand sponsorships and partnerships even though he apologized later on.

Thus, judging from the unfortunate turn of events for him, as of now, Kanye West is notably by himself and will have to hoist himself back to the top by himself as well.
