Kate Middleton and Prince William have been married since 2011, after dating for a few years. The two have three children together: two sons, Princes George and Louis, and a daughter, Princess Charlotte.
However, in a strange turn of events, the Princess of Wales has not been spotted in public since Christmas last year. Since then, the grapevine has worked overtime to find clues as to her whereabouts. Kensington Palace even released a photo of Middleton with her children on Mother’s Day, but the Photoshop fiasco only fanned the flames.
Recently, Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, brought up the alleged affair between Prince William and Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. Colbert went on to state that Middleton’s absence could be due to William’s affair.
The host added that these whispers of an affair between them have been around for a few years. Reportedly, Middleton had even confronted her husband, but William had laughed it off at the time.
Richard Kay, a reporter for the Daily Mail, once stated that the Royal family had considered legal recourse. However, since none of the reports could provide any evidence, the matter was dropped, since they did more harm than good (via Cosmopolitan).

Lady Hanbury is a former model, married to David Rocksavage, the Marquess of Choldmondeley, since 2009. They live in Norfolk, England, close to the Prince and the Princess’ Anmer Hall county estate, and even run in the same social circles.
In 2019, an American publication called In Touch first broke the news of the alleged affair. The Royal family chose to ignore it at the time, but it has come up once again.
There was also a rather scandalous tip from Deuxmoi, a website that shares gossip about celebrities anonymously (via Cosmopolitan). Nobody from the Royal family commented on it either.
It would seem that the rumors of an affair between Prince William and Lady Hanbury are baseless. Well-wishers, just hope that Kate Middleton is seen in public soon so this entire issue can be put to rest.
