With 2023’s Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm Studios once again proved why their Mortal Kombat series is one of the best fighting video game series of all time. After Omni-Man, another popular character from the comic book world is coming to Mortal Kombat 1: John Cena’s Peacemaker. It has been confirmed in the latest gameplay trailer that DC Comics’ Peacemaker will soon be available in the game as a playable character.
The character’s release date, 6th March, perfectly aligns with the game’s free weekend (7th March – 10th March) and fans should definitely use this opportunity to check out this character. The fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for Antony Starr’s Homelander addition to the game. It is believed that the character will be added around the release of The Boys‘ fourth season.
John Cena’s Peacemaker will be added to Mortal Kombat 1 on 6th March 2024
The official X page of Mortal Kombat 1 has confirmed that DC Comics’ Peacemaker, modeled after actor John Cena, will be added to the game. Along with a gameplay trailer, it has been revealed that the character will be available for early access on February 28th for Kombat Pack owners, and will be released for everyone on March 6th, 2024. This announcement has certainly left all of the fans wild as they responded positively to the trailer.
Voiced by John Cena, who portrayed him in The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker HBO series, this formidable fighter is ready to unleash his unique combat skills.

It has also been confirmed that Janet Cage, an alternate reality version of Johnny Cage, will join the Kameo roster in March. As for Peacemaker, fans should definitely check out the character when it releases as they will get to see Peacemaker using a variety of weapons as well as his helmet abilities. His fatality is certainly brutal and also features his bald eagle sidekick, Eagly.
Antony Starr’s Homelander will also be added to the game soon
Another popular character, Homelander, will also be added to the game later this year. Modeled after actor Antony Starr, the character will boast his powers like heat vision, flying ability, and super strength in the game. Unfortunately, Starr will not be providing his voice for the character. The character will be available in the next DLC of the game and some sources believe it will be aligned with the release of The Boys‘ fourth season.
A Mortal Kombat 1 free trial weekend is all set to take place between March 7-10 on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam. So, fans should definitely use this opportunity to try out Cena’s Peacemaker in the game.
