The 2010 science fiction action film directed by Joseph Kosinski, TRON: Legacy, was a box office hit. Starring Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, and Olivia Wilde, the film is a direct sequel to TRON (1982), and is directed by Steven Lisberger. Made 28 years after the first movie, TRON: Legacy made up in visuals and sound what it lacked in story. The movie was also nominated for an Oscar that year in the Best Sound Editing category, but lost to Richard King for Inception.
Recently, Disney announced a sequel to the 2010 movie, TRON: Ares, which is scheduled for a 2025 release. The third film in the franchise is being directed by Joachim Rønning, with Jared Leto in the lead, who will also serve as a producer.
TRON: Ares Shared The Movie’s First Look
TRON: Ares, which is set to be released sometime in 2025, just shared the first look of the movie. Starring Jared Leto in the lead, the actor will be playing a character named Ares. The movie also stars Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson in undisclosed roles. After many years of delay, the movie finally commenced production earlier this year.
Fans seem pretty excited for the upcoming movie, but there is one thing they are keen on getting back – and that is Daft Punk. The French musical duo was formed in 1993 and went on to achieve a lot of success in the music industry. They also composed the musical score for TRON: Legacy, which was one of the biggest positives about the movie. Unfortunately, the duo announced their split in 2021, and fans have missed their music immensely.
But now, with the announcement of TRON: Ares, fans are demanding the duo come back together to compose the score for it. One of the most influential musical duos of all time, Daft Punk has won numerous awards, including multiple Grammys. If Disney can really bring back Daft Punk to score the movie, it would be one of the biggest comebacks in musical history.
