Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone have been very popular among fans for quite some time now. The game’s competitive nature can often make you rage quit but without a doubt, it is an addicting and heart-pumping experience. The Call of Duty franchise is well-known for creating various games over the years that feature multiplayer mode and recently, they expanded their games with the introduction of free-to-play battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
Both of these games are integrated into one and share various weapons across different classes. Depending on players’ experience, changes are made to these guns but a recent change has left many disappointed. It has been announced that the MORS Sniper Rifle, a fan-favorite weapon, has been nerfed.
The MORS Sniper Rifle has been nerfed in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone
Call of Duty Updates on X have revealed that the MORS Sniper Rifle’s capabilities have been significantly reduced. This change will instantly affect the weapon in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone. Here are the changes:
- Reduced penetration on base weapon
- Photonic Charge Barrel will no longer provide uncapped penetration
- Reduced penetration multiplier provided by HVP Anti-Materiel Slug Ammo
The MORS was one of the most popular weapons in the game for players as it was unstoppable with certain attachments. This was a go-to weapon as it had the capability to annihilate the enemy in a single shot. The community had a strong reaction to the MORS nerf.
They can never let us have fun

Not sure why theyd nerf a sniper’s ability to penetrate through walls, especially if its a 50 caliber bullet. Guess they just want to keep making snipers less viable

Not sure why they would need to nerf a sniper penetrating through things. Like it’s a sniper it should be able to do that. Just unnecessary change

The Mors is no more, what’s the point of the charge barrel and ammo type if it’s not doing what’s intended? The cons for this sniper completely outweighs the pros now

Noooo we finally had a consistent 1 hit kill sniper

It was bound to happen as some players were able to shoot across the map with this gun. The sniper rifle has been very popular among the fans but to create a better gaming experience for everyone, this gun had to be nerfed, just like many other guns in the game.
Best MORS loadout for Call of Duty: Warzone
As per popular YouTuber Metaphor, players can put these certain attachments in order to make MORS a powerhouse on the battlefield. It is unclear as of now how much this change has affected the gun, but players can try this loadout:
Barrel: Photonic Charge Barrel
Ammunition: HVP Anit-Material Slug
Stock: Superlight-90 Stock
Optic: Imperium 12x
Laser: Corio LAZ-44 V3
It’s safe to say that this gun will no longer be called the “Railgun Sniper” as the Photonic Charge Barrel’s penetration will now be reduced. Plus, the HVP Anit-Material Slug’s nerf will also massively affect this gun’s performance. Call of Duty games are well-known for being very toxic and with overpowered weapons, players often look for alternate first-person shooters.
