Will Smith, the acclaimed actor, is still making headlines for his unexpected actions at the Oscars, in 2022. The Men in Black star walked on stage and slapped the comedian, Chris Rock, who tried to play around Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss condition. However, the aftermath of Will Smith’s thunderous slap at the Oscars brought some divided opinions in Hollywood.

The departure of Thandiwe Newton from the film Magic Mike 3 reaffirmed the above statements. As it was reported that Newton walked away from the film in between its ongoing shoots because her opinions on Smith’s slap differed from that of the film’s lead actor and producer, Channing Tatum.

Thandiwe Newton’s Reported Dispute On Will Smith’s Oscars Slap

Soon after the exit of Thandiwe Newton from Magic Mike’s Last Dance, a shocking report emerged claiming the reasons for her abrupt exit from the film. An alleged on-set source shared in the report that the Westworld star left the film because of her conflict of opinions with Channing Tatum on Will Smith’s Oscars slap controversy.

“They fell out over the debacle at The Oscars. I was on set. I watched her and watched him. They were in and out of the house where we were filming having this confrontation. It was a tense exchange of words, but suddenly it escalated – Channing got into this car and he disappeared. People looked at each other and thought, ‘Wait, we’re supposed to be filming’. After the row he just went, ‘I am not working with her anymore’. Him being a producer, it’s his movie, so she’s off the movie. She’s gone. Everything we’ve shot for the last 11 days has to be reshot with a new cast member.”
