Pedro Pascal’s Sling Has Caused An Uproar

Awards season is in full swing and celebrities who barely make any public appearances are being seen every other day. One such star is Pedro Pascal, who is making his rounds from one award show to another, having starred in the critically acclaimed series, The Last of Us. What many also noticed about the actor was that he was spotted wearing a sling on his arm due to an injury on his shoulder.

While presenting an award at the Emmys, the actor addressed it, joking that Kieran Culkin was behind the injury after he beat him up. In actuality, it was a result of a fall, which left him hurt enough to need a sling that big. When this was announced, it was expected that the actor would be fine by the time shooting for season 2 of The Last of Us began. However, that has not been the case.

CEO of HBO Explains How Pedro Pascal’s Injury Will Impact The Last Of Us

The fact that Pedro Pascal is still injured has caused many to wonder if the filming of The Last of Us will be delayed or if production will find a clever way to work around it. Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO, recently interviewed with Variety, where he spoke on what they plan to do about it. He started by saying that, though he cannot go into details, the production of the series will continue on schedule as those behind the scenes have managed a way to work around it.

“I think they figured out a way,” he said. “I can’t tell you exactly what the production plan is. But I know that they have taken that into account. I don’t even know the exact nature of the injury, but I know that production has figured out a way to work around it.”

This could mean that his injury has been written into the series and in season 2 of The Last of Us. There could be a few episodes or scenes where Joel is hurt and adorning a makeshift sling in their post-apocalyptic world. While the decision to stray from the source material tends to anger hard-core fans, there does not seem to be any other option for the show’s creators. After all, if pregnancies can be written into shows, so can injuries.
