Taylor Swift is a 34-year-old woman, unmarried, unapologetic, fierce, and one of the most influential people in the whole wide world. A direct contradiction to how most cultures, including the Western culture, view women in society. And so the musical genius often has to face severe backlash from everyone and anyone, especially the Republicans in the USA for the high influence she has on the country and reportedly on its politics as well.
And so, in a recent edition of his popular show, Bill Maher went on to poke fun at the Grammy Winning artist for never ‘dating a Black man’ despite being a punching bag for pro-Trump campaigners.
Bill Maher Calls Out Taylor Swift For Never Dating A Black Man
Bill Maher has had numerous a controversial opinions, even more so when it comes to the pop star Taylor Swift. After gaining immense popularity across the world and being said to have a significant influence on economics, politics, and culture of the land of free, Swift has been a punching bag for one or the other person with even an ounce of fame and fanfare.
In his recent episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the celebrated American personality took a jibe at Swift for being too influential and potentially having a huge impact on the upcoming presidential elections. While stating that MAGA supporters should be careful in attacking Swift, he remarked,
“You should be very careful attacking her because this is someone who transcends parties. I mean, this is a country girl, right? She started out as a country artist. She’s a White girl from Pennsylvania, I think, [who] grew up on a farm, right? Never had a Black boyfriend. Just saying, she’s had a lot of boyfriends that we all know about. You know, if ‘MAGA’ is full of racists, then they got to like that.”
While it is true Swift in fact has never had a Black boyfriend, she has been a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement (via Billboard). And since the Presidential elections are getting closer and closer, it is but natural that she would be included in the debate seeing how much of an influence she holds over the general population (see The Hollywood Reporter).
Taylor Swift Is A Prime Target For Donald Trump Supporters
Taylor Swift may not have been endorsing any Presidential candidate, but she sure has an incredible influence when it comes to voter turnouts (via THR). While she did endorse Joe Biden during the 2020 campaign (see X), she is yet to have spoken on the matter this year. Despite this, she has been a favorite target for Donald Trump supporters.
As per The New York Times, Swift has been reported to be a Biden supporter, with even her relationship with boyfriend Travis Kelce being rumored to be a political campaign (see NBC). Even though her fan base might not be evenly distributed across the American voter base, she still holds a considerable influence among the young voter population (via The Guardian), which gives a significant impetus for Trump fans to attack the singer.
While Trump supporters wage a war against the Grammy-winning artist for allegedly being anti-Trump, the presidential candidate himself reportedly believes he is more popular than the Shake it Off hitmaker (via Rolling Stones). With no comments from pro-Biden aides or even Swift herself, there is no denying that Swift’s endorsement can change the fate of not only the United States but also the world by influencing the politics of the hegemon of the modern world.
